Stress & Anti-Stress

Stress promotes the formation of ”Free Radicals” that damage the body’’s tissues, especially cell membranes. Researchers estimate that stress contributes to as much as 80% of all major illnesses. It ”opens the door” for infection and further depletes vital reserves of the body weakening the immune response capability.Anti-Stress Enzymes can benefit everyone. They are safe at any level and can be taken everyday. The complex of these vitamins in this formula is intended to support health and well-being during stressful periods.

What is the Dictionary Definition?

Stress can be good or bad. The clinical definition of stresses affecting us is different, Hans Seyle wrote stress is a…

Non-specific response of the body to a demand.

What does this mean? He explained further saying ’stress is not necessarily something bad - it all depends on how you take it. The stress of exhilarating, creative successful work is beneficial, while that of failure, humiliation or infection is detrimental.’ He basically said stress can be good or bad; it’s just how we deal with it that matters.

The dictionary’s definition of stress is different again, it says stress is…

Difficulty that causes worry or emotional tension

Which you can probably relate to life in general for most of us. Life is hectic, working life is too hard and too long, family life has its’ ups and downs. So stress is anything and everything.

Calcium Supplement :

CALCIUM:

A crucial element introduced to the body through the diet, calcium is essential for a variety of bodily functions, such as nerotransmission, muscle contraction, and proper heart function. In people with Alzheimer’s disease, abnormal levels of glutamate lead to a constant influx of calcium into cells. The high concentration of calcium inside neurons damages the cell and can lead to cell death.

Our Needs:

The surprising benefits of calcium: you know you need it for strong bones, but calcium protects your health in other important ways, too. Here’s what this amazing mineral can do for you

Benefits:

  • Calcium helps keep the weight off.
  • Calcium protects your heart.
  • Calcium improves premenstrual moods.
  • Calcium protects against colon cancer.

What to Look for in Calcium Supplement?

Calcium exists in nature only in combination with other substances. These substances are called compounds. Several different calcium compounds are used in supplements, including:

  • calcium carbonate
  • calcium phosphate
  • calcium citrate.

These compounds contain different amounts of elemental calcium, which is the actual amount of calcium in the supplement. It is important to read the label carefully to determine how much elemental calcium is in the supplement and how many doses or pills to take.

Antioxidants:

THE KEY TO A HEALTHY FUTURE:

Antioxidants are a group of compounds that destroy single oxygen molecules, also called free radicals or we can say Antioxidants protect the body from damage caused by harmful molecules called free radicals. The best sources of antioxidants are fruits and vegetables, and for this reason most of us take a multi-vitamin every day and some take an additional dose of one of the antioxidants.

Why are antioxidants useful?
Antioxidants include the vitamins A, C and E and the carotenoids and are found in fruit, vegetables and wholegrain products.

Antioxidants help to “neutralize” the effect of unstable oxygen molecules commonly known as free radicals. As the body uses oxygen, free radicals are produced as a byproduct and are responsible for damaging the cells of the body as they try to latch onto stable compounds such as fats and genetic material.

Free radical reactions happen at an increasing rate with age and the damage done is thought to be cumulative and determines our lifespan.

“Ageing can be viewed as the accumulation of changes in the body which increase the risk of death.”

He reported that oxygen free radical reactions which occur in the body may be responsible for these ageing changes because of their ability to produce random change.

Antioxidants in foods help counter the detrimental effects of free radicals and are therefore essential elements of a healthy diet throughout life.”

Allergy and its Treatment ..

Allergy is a word which we usually use for a particular group of unpleasant or dangerous symptoms which a few people get from substances which are harmless to most of us. In fact they were almost always harmless in the past to the same person who is allergic to them now. We don’t start out with allergies, but become allergic as a result of contact with the things which cause it. Just occasionally this even happens in the womb, before we are born. Just as you don’t have immunity to measles unless you have been infected or immunized with measles virus, so you can’t have allergy to grass pollen or nuts unless you have come into contact with grass pollen or nuts. Allergy is immunity gone wrong. An allergy is a hyperactive response of the immune system to certain substances which are “foreign” to our bodies. These substances are called “allergens”, and they can range from food and pollen to dust and drugs. Allergies are something we acquire throughout life, and some people are more susceptible than others.

Allergy Treatments:

If you have allergic symptoms frequently, and you end up in a great deal of discomfort on a regular basis, it may be a good idea to undergo some allergy treatment. With food allergies and young children, the best method of establishing the source is through a process of elimination. Testing methods can be effective, but in general it is important to combine tests such as skin tests and blood tests to provide the most accurate results. For example, it is easier to find food allergies in blood tests, but you’re in the fortunate position of being able to avoid you’re allergy. Allergy treatment is normally made up of a course of allergy shots, or immunotherapy, which expose the suffers to negligible quantities of the allergens in increasing dosages to decrease symptoms overall. Logically, those substances that can bring on a multitude of reactions, such as peanut allergies and wasp stings should be avoided altogether. Gradually over time, the symptoms will decrease as your allergy treatment progresses. There are a few good websites you can visit for more about allergy treatments, where you can find a great deal of information about allergies and allergy treatment to satisfy your curiosity. He/she will have the best idea about the allergy treatment best for you, and will hopefully be able to allay any fears or anxieties you may have regarding your allergy.

Anti Aging and its dietary rules to reduce aging problems.

What is Anti Aging?

Anti-aging addresses how to prevent, slow, or reverse the effects of aging and help people live longer, healthier, happier lives. It includes scientific research and applications in genetic engineering, tissue engineering, and other medical advances.

Businesses in the “anti-aging” marketplace make money from the aura of legitimacy whether or not their products perform as advertised, and so a lot of effort is expended to create and maintain this perception of legitimacy. Those businesspeople who do feel they have working problems carry out their own fight against opportunists, frauds and “marketeers” who they feel are damaging their own market. Ironically, this is much the same argument used against these businesses by scientists like. The vast amount of money spent on products that claim to turn back the clock demonstrates that people want real anti-aging medicines. The trouble is that these real anti-aging therapies simply don’t exist. Or do they? It all depends on how you define “anti-aging.”

As early as our twenties, a gradual decline in the immune and muscular systems begins to set in if not offset by restorative nutrients and regular exercise. It’s not simply the years that have a damaging effect on our bodies; it’s also those out-of-control free radicals–oxygen molecules that come unglued during normal cell functions. Fortunately, the antioxidant nutrients–vitamins A, C and E, selenium and zinc–fight back. Here are specific foods that contain bodyguard nutrients and a dietary plan that promotes lasting vitality and timeless beauty.

Some Dietary Rules to Reduce Aging Problem:

Steal from time and live by the following guidelines.

  • Get enough calcium–800 to 1,200 milligrams daily. To keep your bones and teeth fortified, count on low-fat dairy products, especially yogurt, broccoli and spinach.
  • Consume plenty of beans. For low-fat protein and high-quality fiber, make legumes–dry beans, peas, lentils or tofu–the focus of your meals several times a week.
  • Get your fill of water. This is the nutrient your body needs in the greatest amount. Use a variety of liquids like diluted juices and herbal teas to achieve your.
  • Eat five vegetables and fruits daily. For nutrient density, choose produce in living color–deep greens, reds and oranges as in collard greens, tomatoes and mangoes.

IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS OF AMINO ACIDS

INTRODUCTION TO AMINO ACIDS:

The term “amino acids” dates to the middle of the 19th century. The idea that amino acids are “Bausteine” (building stones) came from the Nobel Prize winning German biochemist Albrecht Kossel (1853-1927).

An organic compound containing an amino group (NH2), a carboxylic acid group (COOH), and any of various side groups, especially any of the 20 compounds that have the basic formula NH2CHRCOOH, and that link together by peptide bonds to form proteins or that function as chemical messengers and as intermediates in metabolism.

Since the proteins that make our body are not directly obtained from the diet because dietary protein is broken down into amino acids. In the body these amino acids either rebuild into a specific protein which the body required or may perform other function within the body. Thus it is the amino acids not the protein that are required as essential nutrients.

IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS OF AMINO ACIDS:

v The basic function of amino acids is to form protein which is the very important component of body.

v Amino acids also enable the body to absorb & assimilate the vitamins & minerals. For example, low levels of the amino acid tyrosine may lead to iron deficiency.

v Some amino acids act as neurotransmitters or as precursors of neurotransmitters, the chemicals that carry information from one nerve cell to another.

v Certain amino acids when act as neurotransmitters they have the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier (defensive shield designed to protect the brain from toxins and foreign invaders that may be circulating in the bloodstream) so that they can be used by brain to communicate with nerve cells. Amino acids also protecting the body from viruses & bacteria.

TOXICITY & SIDE EFFECTS:

Side effects of amino acids depends on which amino acid is being used. Some are practically harmless, whereas others, such as tyrosine, can cause anxiety, restlessness, rapid heart beat, and even heart palpitations on high doses.

so the whole field of amino acid supplementation is very complicated and confusing and there is not enough human research to say much in confidence. Sometimes people focus too much on individual amino acids and miss the whole picture. For muscle building creatine and protein supplements in the form of soy or whey are the best options, and perhaps glutamine. We have not seen any convincing research that taking individual amino acids for the purpose of muscle building or health promotion is better than taking creatine or complete amino acid supplement from a protein source.

Acetyl L-Carnitine benefits and side effects:

Acetyl-L-Carnitine is a molecular compound found in the brain, kidneys, and liver. This substance is also artificially produced as a dietary supplement.

Acetyl L-Carnitine :

Acetyl-l-Carnitine is an amino acid the body uses to turn fat into energy. It is not normally considered an essential nutrient because the body can manufacture all it needs. However, supplemental Carnitine may improve the ability of certain tissues to produce energy. This effect has led to the use of Carnitine in various muscle diseases as well as heart conditions.

Acetyl L-Carnitine Benefits:

Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALCAR) a natural remedy super antioxidant, occurring form of L-Carnitine that specifically benefits the brain.

ALCAR helps supply the brain with energy by improving energetic in the mitochondrion, the cell’s energy generator.

ALCAR promotes biosynthesis of acetylcholine, a key neurotransmitter for brain and nerve function.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine has been shown in clinical studies to benefit cognitive ability, memory and mood.

USES & BENEFITS OF 5-HTP

5-HTP dietary supplements help raise serotonin levels in the brain, which may have a positive effect on the following functions and processes: sleep, mood, anxiety, aggression, appetite, temperature, sexual behavior, and pain sensation.

Serotonin is an important brain chemical involved in mood, behavior, appetite, and sleep. Serotonin is also involved in impulse control. For instance, low serotonin levels may lead to addictive behavior such as gambling or other habits caused by weak will power. Serotonin is known as 5-HTP, or 5-hydroxytryptamine, and is found in many places in the body particularly body cells, gastrointestinal system, and the brain. It influences many normal brain activities and also regulates the activity of other neurotransmitters. Having adequate levels of serotonin instills a feeling of relaxation, calmness, and mild euphoria (extreme happiness). Low levels of serotonin, serotonin deficiency syndrome, leads to depression, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, and many other problems

USES & BENEFITS OF 5-HTP:

  • Scientists believe that some forms of depression are caused by low levels of serotonin in the brain. Therefore, many of the anti-depressant drugs prescribed for depression increase serotonin levels.
  • This is a disorder that causes achy and stiff muscles, tender joints, and ongoing pain at various sites in the body. Although many factors can affect the severity of the disorder, the primary cause of the pain of fibromylagia is low serotonin levels.
  • 5-HTP has been shown to reduce the time required to fall asleep and to improve sleep quality.
  • 5-HTP reduces the frequency and severity of migraine headaches with fewer side effects than migraine headache drugs.
  • 5-HTP can decrease carbohydrate intake by promoting a feeling of satiety (fullness), and may result in weight loss in overweight individuals.
  • Children with headaches associated with sleep disorders can respond favorably to 5-HTP treatment.
  • 5-HTP is extracted from the seed of the African plant Griffonia simplicifolia. It is purified, and concentrated in dietary supplements.

Lysine And Its Benefits

L-lysine is an essential amino acid for humans and therefore must be supplied in the diet.lysine’s popularity as a nutritional supplement arose as a result of some studies suggesting that the amino acid may decrease the recurrence rate of some infected with herpes simplex virus.
Lysine deficiencies may include fatigue, moodiness, anemia, poor concentration, reproductive problems and slow development. L-Lysine supplementation helps maintain the health of the structural, circulatory and immune systems. For years, lysine has been considered in the treatment of herpes and cold sores, and more recently, has been attracting attention as a possible addition to the fast-growing list of muscle-building nutrients.

Lysine And Its Benefits:

Due to its high nutritional content, the benefits of L-lysine are many and varied:

L-lysine deficiencies are also related to the development of kidney stones, fatigue, nausea, irritability, poor appetite, anemia, and dizziness. L-lysine also reportedly has some effectiveness in treating migraine headaches.
L-Lysine is necessary for helping the immune system produce antibodies that are necessary for warding off viral infections, making it beneficial for treating herpes, cold sores, mouth ulcers, and fevers.
